In Mediaș, you will be surprised to find a true museum dedicated to the pioneering cosmonauts of our country. The Herman Oberth Memorial House offers you a glimpse into the history where Sibiu and the city of Mediaș left a strong mark in the last century.
One of the founding fathers of the rocket was inaugurated in 1994 to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the scientist who made significant contributions to everything that today encompasses space travel. The museum is structured into three main modules, each dedicated to a pioneer of Romanian space exploration:
Among the exhibits you can find here are the training suit worn by astronauts, models of the V2 and Saturn V rockets, and a model of the Buran spacecraft. Additionally, documentaries about the conquest of outer space are often screened in the museum's conference room.
