Haferland Week is an event with roots in the history of the Transylvanian Saxons, who came to the region from various Germanic regions, documented over nine centuries ago. They left an impressive cultural legacy, still visible today in the architecture, music, dance, and local customs. The festival is a special celebration of the Transylvanian Saxons, aiming to bring back to attention authentic local traditions and promote community dialogue.

Through special activities and events, young people will have the chance to connect with their roots and share new and emotional experiences.
Transylvania is known for its impressive cultural and historical heritage, still visible today. Among the region's attractions are over 200 fortified Saxon churches, built starting from the 12th century. These medieval fortresses full of secrets have survived even after the dispersal of the former Saxon communities and represent a true cultural and historical treasure.
Visitors to Haferland Week will have the opportunity to evoke the memory of great cultural personalities of the region, such as Josef Haltrich, a renowned pedagogue, philologist, priest, and ethnographer born in Reghin and deceased in Șaeș, Apold. These personalities have significantly contributed to the development of the culture and identity of the Transylvanian Saxons and represent a true cultural and historical treasure.
Haferland Week will offer a series of special activities and events, allowing participants to discover and share the culture and traditions of the Transylvanian Saxons. These include traditional music concerts, dance performances, workshops on traditional crafts, art exhibitions, and culinary events showcasing traditional Saxon cuisine.
