The ski jumping ramps at Râșnov, built in the Coal Valley, put Romania back in the running for such competitions worldwide.
The investments made by the Romanian state in recent years in Valea Cărbunării, near Râșnov, have placed our country on the list of major ski jumping venues in the world. However, ski jumping has already been a tradition in Râșnov, as this sport has been practiced here since 1936!
The investments made in the past year by the Romanian state were in partnership with the Austrian company OMV, which committed to providing part of the necessary funds for the development of this sports park, as well as the coaches needed to train young jumpers.

This year, the 90-meter jump was also inaugurated.
The history of the sports park in Valea Cărbunării began in 1936 when the first jump was built. After more than ten years, in 1947, it was rebuilt; however, investments here stagnated afterward.
