Discovering the Natural Monuments of Mărginimea Sibiului

In the Mărginimea Sibiului region, right near the commune of Jina, don’t forget to visit two natural monuments like you’ve rarely seen before. Although they are little known to tourists and even to the locals, the Pintenii from Coasta Jinei and the Masa Jidovului form a protected natural area that is rarely encountered anywhere in the world.

The Spurs of Coasta Jinei and the Table of the Jew

The Spurs of Coasta Jinei

Covering an area of two hectares, "The Spurs of Coasta Jinei" represents a natural reserve made up of cliffs that rise to an altitude between 700 and 900 meters. The cliffs, isolated from the roads that traverse the area, are located in a beech forest, and it is said that in the past, only the shepherds who traveled the old road to the pastures in the Cindrel Mountains and Sebeș knew of their existence.

The Jew's Table

Also spanning an area of two hectares is "The Jew's Table." More spectacular in landscape but with equally significant geological importance, this natural monument represents a rock formation that, at an altitude of 50 meters above the riverbed, forms a platform resembling a table. In short, a divine work of art.
