The Water Mill in Rimetea
Hidden away and little known to tourists, the water mill in the village of Rimetea, located in the Apuseni Mountains, should not be missed on your list of must-visit attractions in Transylvania. The mill was built in 1752 by the local Toroczkai Klara, and it is still operational today. Its premises can be compared to a true museum: milling tools and other equipment await in their original places, just as they were left by the old millers. The water mill in Rimetea is the oldest of its kind in the Apuseni Mountains. Today, it is still occasionally used by the locals of the area.
