The Castle of Clay: A Fairytale Realm

The tales of the Brothers Grimm... that’s what the Castle of Clay brings to mind for the first time. This beautiful construction is a recent fortification, an oasis of tranquility and indulgence, and at the same time, a fairytale realm.

The Enchanting Story

The story of the Castle of Clay in the Valley of Fairies is truly enchanting, and rightly so, one could say it is taken straight from a storybook. But let’s start with the people who made this construction possible!

The Visionaries Behind the Castle

Răzvan and Gabriela Vasile, two passionate Bucharest residents, married with two beautiful children, one day thought that they could no longer live peacefully in a city like Bucharest. The heat, the filth, and other disadvantages of the city made them think twice before deciding to stay in Bucharest indefinitely.

Thus, with a vast experience in advertising, the owner of the Castle of Clay, who had been a director for many years at one of these agencies in the capital, decided to resign and sell his house in Bucharest to pursue his dream.

The Birth of the Castle

And this dream is the Castle of Clay, which is materializing day by day. In 2006, Vasile Răzvan purchased a plot of land in Porumbacu de Sus, exactly halfway between Sibiu and Făgăraș. Here, he began to build this construction from purely natural materials, which, to date, represents an investment of over 230,000 euros!

Unique Features

The Castle of Clay has 10 rooms, each with its own personality and differing from the others. Thus, the castle is, in fact, a true storybook element - it cannot be said to be something common, especially due to its appearance, which is different from any other construction in the country.

Moreover, the vast majority of people who see pictures of the castle for the first time do not even slightly consider the possibility that this construction could be located within our country.

Future Prospects

Until it can be operational and, why not, overwhelmed by tourists, the Castle of Clay requires an investment equal to the amount already invested. Undoubtedly, the result will be spectacular, necessitating that each visitor makes a reservation well in advance of arriving here.

As for their numbers, they are already starting to grow, with over 100 eager visitors already on the list in just one summer.

Collaboration with Locals

In addition to the aforementioned, Vasile Răzvan has already expressed his interest in working with the locals on agriculture to benefit from the most natural raw materials.
