Anyone passing through Avrig this Saturday, a town near Sibiu, will certainly feel as if they have stepped back in time. The streets will be filled with musketeers, counts, barons, and baronesses, creating a unique atmosphere. This is all part of the Baroque Autumn Festival, held annually for the past four years at the former summer residence of Baron Samuel von Brukenthal.
Saturday, October 6, also presents a unique opportunity to visit the opulent residence as well as Avrig, the only area in Romania where Baroque elements are most prominently showcased. The day will conclude with a fire show and a grand ball in Baroque style, to which all tourists are invited.
