Prince Charles is on a new visit to Romania, after a year. He arrived yesterday at Târgu-Mureș airport aboard a private plane. His first stop was at his favorite place, the village of Viscri. Here, he was warmly welcomed by the locals.
In Viscri, the prince owns a manor, a peasant house with small windows and wooden beams. Prince Charles visited the village of Viscri 15 years ago, which made him fall hopelessly in love with Romania. Through his foundation, Prince Charles is involved in the restoration of traditional houses, but most importantly, in promoting our country abroad.
His visits and properties in the Romanian countryside attract thousands of tourists each year.
- The Apafi Manor in Mălâncrav, Sibiu County
- A residence in Viscri, Brașov County
- Four estates in Valea Zălanului, Covasna
- Another four in the village of Breb in Maramureș
Today, Prince Charles visited the Black Church in Brașov and took a stroll through the narrow streets of the city's historic center, admiring the architecture of the Saxon houses.
In an interview with Protv News, Prince Charles stated that medieval architecture is one of Romania's treasures, which is now very hard to find. There are villages that are practically untouched and have preserved their extraordinary architecture.
