Located in the midst of the communes of Râșca, Gilău, and Mărișel, Lake Tarnița falls into the category of accumulation lakes, with a depth that can reach a maximum of 70 meters. What is important to emphasize about this natural beauty is that Lake Tarnița is considered one of the most beautiful tourist regions in our country. Geographically, it hosts the waters of the Someșul Cald and Someșul Mic valleys.
Lake Tarnița is situated at an altitude of 620 meters and, more importantly, stretches for up to 9 kilometers in length. However, it is made up of a series of elements that sustain it.
In addition to these features, Tarnița also has a hydroelectric power station, which was also put into operation in 1974. It has a capacity of 45 MW, which supports the dam. Furthermore, in addition to this main hydroelectric power station, Tarnița has 2 micro-hydroelectric power stations that have been operational since May 7, 2009. In terms of power, each of these totals 800 kW.
However, Tarnița is more than just simple technical data – when it comes to leisure activities, both young people and adults can choose from a wide range of activities to engage in. Among these are:
Undoubtedly, if you are looking for a place to spend your next weekend, you have certainly heard of Tarnița.
Here, annually, some of the most exciting and enjoyable parties take place, attracting an impressive number of people who prefer to spend their time in a natural environment, away from the hustle and bustle of big cities or pollution. It’s no wonder why, given that at Tarnița you are in the heart of nature.
Moreover, due to its extremely advantageous geographical position, people eager to participate in organized swimming competitions come here every summer. Thus, both children and adults are welcomed annually to these events, which each of us should participate in at least once.
