The Ethnographic Museum of the Morariu Family in Jina
Introduction
Tools for carpentry, leatherworking, blacksmithing, beekeeping, and several hundred other items, each with its own story, are housed in a museum set up in the Morariu family's home in Jina, Sibiu County. Every tourist passing through Jina should know about Ileana Morariu. Her passion for the traditions and culture of Transylvania has transformed her home into an ethnographic museum.
The Museum
In the seven rooms of her household, as well as in the shed and barn, a true museum operates, showcasing over 3,200 objects. The museum opened in 2006, and since then, her home has become a main tourist attraction in Jina.
