The story of the lake is also intriguing, as a landslide caused its formation in the shape of a natural dam.
If you wish to spend more days by the shores of this lake, there is a single cabin available for rent, owned by the Alba Forest Directorate, which offers two-star accommodation.
To reach Lake Iezer Ighiel in Alba County, you need to follow DN 74 from Alba Iulia to Ighiu, approximately 15 kilometers. From Ighiu to Ighiel, you will take DC69, about 5 kilometers. The last 10 kilometers from Ighiel to the lake are on a forest road, so if you don’t have a well-equipped off-road vehicle, a walk might not be a bad idea.
