Less known than the other towns in Sibiu County, Agnita hides a few monuments that should not be missed on the itinerary of any tourist passing through these extremely beautiful areas.

Potters' Tower

One of the most beautiful buildings is the Potters' Tower, one of the towers of the Agnita fortress, which was used as a defense tower during wartime.

Historical Significance

In the past, the Potters' Tower was one of the most important, housing the potters' guild, renowned throughout the Hârtibaciu Valley. This peasant-type fortification was built in the 13th century, but in the following centuries, it was expanded.

Architectural Features

The Potters' Tower is rectangular in shape and features special arrow slits for attacking besiegers. The fortress in Agnita has four such defense towers, all of which can be visited.
