We propose a medium-difficulty cycling route, but with incredibly beautiful landscapes. The route starts from Rășinari, Sibiu County, has a total length of 22 kilometers, and traverses some of the most stunning areas of the Făgăraș Mountains.
The route begins in the center of Rășinari, in front of the Orthodox Church of Saint Parascheva, built between 1725 and 1758 in Baroque style. So, the first stop on the route should be right here. The story of this church is a very beautiful one, as it was built on the site of an old wooden church from the 17th century that was sold to the parish in Satu Nou, Brașov County.
The circuit then continues to Prislop, a village with only a few inhabitants, but where you will surely meet someone who can teach you the secrets of basket weaving or broom making. The route then follows towards Apa Cumăpănită, passing through:
These areas offer splendid landscapes sprinkled here and there with flocks of sheep, sheepfolds, haystacks, and other sights that remind you why Transylvania is beautiful. The route continues from Apa Cumăpănită along the Valea Caselor back to Rășinari.
