
The largest saltwater spa in Romania, covering an area of approximately 5,200 square meters, was opened on Saturday in Praid (Harghita). The investment, amounting to 1.55 million euros, was entirely funded by the salt mine in the resort, reports MEDIAFAX correspondent.
The spa in Praid has been set up on the site of an old spa that had deteriorated and was closed for several years. According to Ilie Colorian, head of the Tourism Service at Salina Praid, the spa spans an area of 5,200 square meters, of which the water surface is 1,942 square meters.

"It is the largest complex of its kind in Transylvania and Romania," stated Ilie Colorian.
The beach area covers 2,478 square meters and extends along the pools, as well as on a terrace located on the roof of a building that is part of the complex. Currently, 300 sun loungers have been installed, which are not charged separately.

The hot water for domestic use and showers is produced by solar installations.
On Saturday, prior to the official inauguration scheduled for 2:00 PM, entry to the spa was free, and several hundred people took advantage of the offer to visit the complex and take a dip in the saltwater.
