As soon as you arrive at the Village Museum in Sibiu, you can't help but notice a tavern resting in the shade of some oaks, looking as if it has been plucked straight from *Creangă's tales. And if you find yourself here on a warm summer day, the scent of fresh beer and the aroma of grilled mici will surely tempt you to indulge for a few hours at this rare gem of a place. You have arrived at the renowned Cârciuma din Bătrâni*.
The building housing the tavern was brought from the village of Bătrâni, Prahova County ([map link](http://goo.gl/maps/lhPc8)). In fact, there, the house built in the 19th century also functioned as a restaurant. The neo-Romanian architectural style of the building is typical of the Prahova Valley region, which is why it was relocated to the Village Museum in Sibiu.
Now, after its renovation, at Cârciuma din Bătrâni, you can enjoy a traditional meal from the Mărginimea Sibiului.
You can reach the Village Museum in Sibiu from the road leading out of Sibiu towards Rășinari, just after exiting the Hipodrom neighborhood. The complete visiting schedule for the Village Museum in Sibiu can be found on the official site, here.
