For example, horseradish paste is specific to the Saxons from the Sibiu area. Horseradish is grown in gardens and then grated, mixed with a bit of vinegar, water, salt, and honey... the paste will be a delight.

Simple Recipe for Assorted Pickles

Ingredients

• 1 cauliflower head
• 1/2 kg bell peppers
• 1/2 kg capia peppers
• 1/2 kg carrots
• celery leaves
• mustard seeds
• water, salt

Preparation Method

1. Wash all the vegetables.
2. Separate the cauliflower into florets.
3. Remove the stems from the bell peppers and capia peppers and cut them into quarters.
4. Peel the carrots and cut them into sticks.
5. Arrange all the vegetables in a wide-mouth jar, alternating the layers.
6. Add the celery leaves and mustard seeds.
7. In a pot, bring the water and salt to a boil. Use 1 tablespoon of salt for every liter of water.
8. Pour the hot brine over the pickles, let it cool completely, then seal the jar and store it in the pantry.
